Whippet Bicycle with concrete background

our story

We believe that beyond function and convenience lies emotional connection - a place where admiration is replaced by love. Life is for living (your own way) and bicycles are meant for riding, so a great bicycle designed for both stylish living and fine riding was always our goal.

Whippet Bicycle is a completely new British retracting bicycle - designed, developed and made by product designer and engineer Graham Powell. It has been developed through a series of prototypes in a studio and workshop just a few miles from the UK city of Coventry - home to some of the bicycle industry's key pioneers since the late 1860s.

In the same spirit of innovation and thirst for something new our journey began with the question 'does a folding bicycle actually need to fold? ...or is there perhaps another way?'

ALBERT

INSPIRATION & OFFICIAL MASCOT

A typical whippet... he's fun, friendly, compact and super slim. Albert loves to show off by outrunning all the other dogs in the neighbourhood (whippets can reach speeds of up to 35mph!). Afterwards he's more than happy to curl up at home for a well earned rest.
